Progress continues on building the Winco Foods Store on Northwest Stewart Parkway in Roseburg.
WinCo Vice President of Real Estate Greg Goins told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that structural framing is almost complete, with structural steel completed. Goins said the roof deck is complete, skylights and curbs have been installed, and exterior wall sheathing is underway. Goins said parking lot light pole bases have been put in with electrical conduit for light poles at the rear of the building and the sides of the lot.
Other work that has been completed includes new underground water line connections. Goins said new landscape curbs have been started in the drive lanes and the turning lanes. New sidewalks have been started that will go between WinCo and Big 5 Sporting Goods. Interior concrete slab pours have been finished. Landscaping, irrigation and paving for the 72,900 square foot building will occur in August.
Goins said he expects that approximately 120 people will be hired to work at the new store. He said employees are part-owners of the company. WinCo is based in Boise, Idaho and currently has 139 stores in ten states, mostly in the western United States. The closest locations to Roseburg are three stores in the Eugene area and one store in Grants Pass.
