Driver sent to hospital after crashing into light pole Thursday morning

A section of Hickman Road in Des Moines is back open Thursday night after police say a car knocked down a light pole.

It happened just after 9 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Hickman and 23rd Street, right across from the Burger King.

Des Moines Police say the driver was sent to the hospital with injuries. His condition is unknown.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
